The thirtieth edition of Hart’s Rules was published in December 1938, cost two and six, by Humphrey Milford in London, and printed by John Johnson in Oxford. The extent was 142 pages. The preface, with the additional pragraph shown below, was fitted into the same number of pages by reducing the leading (vertical space between lines) from that in previous editions.

In this Thirtieth Edition further corrections and additions have been made, including some notes on the printing of musical works and a short Appendix on the printing of Oriental languages in roman type.

Once again acknowledgement is made to the various correspondents and contributors to whose suggestions and notes the success of this little book is in some measure due.
