The twenty-seveth edition of Hart’s Rules was published in April 1925 by Humphrey Milford in London—the thirteenth for publication. This was to be the last edition compiled under the directorship of Frederick Hall. The extent was 135 pages.

During the past ten years additions and alterations of a minor character have been made in the Rules in continuation of the plan outlined above by my predecessor. Those i the twenty-seventh edition are more numerous, embodying as they do a large number of medical words; the recommendations of the Society for Pure English as to the printing of foreign words; the rearrangement of some of the sections; and other changes suggested by numerous corerespondents, but chefly by Mr. Eward Latham.
